This summer we tried to disconnect but it was impossible. We were called hafway through August to be told that we would feature on the TV news. We started calling relatives and friends from the port of Gijon! We looked for a bar and asked if we could watch la Sexta Noticias. They asked us if we were singers or something. When we appeared the people of the bar pointed at us smiling. Thanks to Roberto Martín for the report, to the people of the Bar for letting us watch it, and to Xavier Daura for its unique ears.

Este verano intentamos desconectar pero nos fue imposible. Nos llamaron a mediados de agosto para avisarnos que saldríamos por la tele. Empezaron las llamadas a familiares y amigos. Nos pilló en el puerto de Gijón! Buscamos un bar y preguntamos si podíamos poner la Sexta Noticias. Nos preguntaron: ¿Que sois cantantes? Cuando se emitió gente del Bar nos señalaba sonriendo. Gracias a Roberto Martín por el reportaje, a los del Bar por dejarnos verlo y a Xavier Daura por su oído único.

The girls from lamono, Eva (the sensitive boss) and Anthya (the rocker), Alba Pardo (the brave) and myself, Javi. We got on the van to search for boards on our way to Berlin. We picked the old boards and we handed a special Reskate designed for this project. The first stop was at the HeyHo skateshop, in the the district of Raval in Barcelona. Max and Sol devoted themselves to the show of Picking Europe's Wood. From there we left to the rough core at Sant Feliu de Llobregat to Antidot skateshop. These guys are the shakers of the town. Appart from being a great shop they have great active projects. The next step was Zurich where some cheerful guys were wating for us at the Roll Laden, a great skateshop / workshop which specialises in cruisers. Attentive, kind and very human. They took us to the Blam Blam Blam gallery to share beer, graffity and music. We woke up in a caravan and after a walk around Zurich we left to Munich. There the people from Planet Sports waited for us. A great shop with very good material. They gave us old and also new boards. A very kind gesture.
The third day we arrived at the Bright Tradeshow with around 50 boards in the tow plus all the reskates that we brought from Barcelona. We set the stand up with this material and a bit of time. Our intention was to accentuate the problem of waste, trying to express it as a fall into oblivion. Stopping uncounsciousness and taking out the soul of each piece of wood. We got very good critics and congratulations for this idea. In addition to this, we had the cheerful action of Ocho Cuervos and Pepo Moreno bringing to life boards on-location and myself as a beaver working in its nest. Thanks to the rescuers because they are the base. Thanks to all the skateshops for opening their places to us. And thanks to lamono for this trip (alghough it was hard to bear chicks chatting all the time :). The next step is to stop. To analyse this year (it was a year ago that the idea of "Reskate!" was born in our heads!) and to prepare new hits covering corners that we had neglected unintentionally. Welcome to Reskate!

Las chicas de lamono, Eva (la jefa sensible) y Anthya (la agitadora), Alba Pardo (la valiente) y yo, Javi. Salimos en furgoneta para ir a buscar tablas de camino a Berlín. Recogíamos las viejas tablas y dábamos a cambio un Reskate diseñado para la ocasión. La primera parada fué en HeyHo skateshop, skatecore en pleno Raval. Max y Sol se entregaron al show de Picking Europe's Wood. De ahí partimos al núcleo duro de Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Antidot. Estos chicos son el revulsivo del pueblo. A parte de una buena tienda tienen grandes propuestas activas. La siguiente zancada fué hasta Zurich, unos chicos alegres nos esperaban a lo grande, la familia Roll Laden. Activistas de una tienda-taller especializada en longboards y cruisers. Detallistas, atentos y muy humanos. Nos llevaron a la galeria Blam Blam Blam a compratir cerveza, graffity y musica. Despertamos en una autocaravana y después de un paseo por Zurich partimos hacia Munich. Allí nos esperaban los de Planet Sports. Una tienda enorme con muy buen material. A parte de tablas rotas o estropeadas nos regalaron nuevas. Un detallazo.
Al tercer dia llegamos al Bright Tradeshow con unas 50 tablas en el remolque, a parte de los Reskates que traíamos preparados. Con este material y tiempo montamos el stand. La intención con el montaje era evidenciar el desperdicio. Plantearlo como una caída al olvido. Deteniendo la inconsciencia y sacando el alma de cada trozo de madera. Recibimos muy buenas críticas al respecto, felicitaciones e incluso algún agradecimiento por la idea. A eso se sumó la acción alegre de Ocho Cuervos y Pepo Moreno reviviendo en directo y yo como castor trabajando en su nido. Gracias a los reskatadores porque son la base, a todas las tiendas por abrirnos las puertas y a lamono por este viaje (aunque haya sido duro aguantar tanta conversación de chicas:). El siguiente paso es detenernos. Analizar el año (hace ya un año que la idea "Reskate!" germinó en nuestras cabezas!) y preparar nuevos golpes cubriendo rincones que habíamos descuidado. Bienvenidos al reskate bien avenidos.

On Saturday we took part in the Hipnotik Festival at CCCB. It was so fast. The set up was pretty quick. We adapted part of the furniture from the past festival to a new stand. Everyone was so satisfied with the outcome that we couldn't get rid of the pallets so fast.
The day took place nicely and full of hip hop, break dance and other activities. We did almost no noise out of consideration for the concerts (no chainsaws or automatic sanders).
We had the pleasure of counting with three great artists painting boards on-location: Mr. Jalón, Adrià Ventura and David Méndez. Not to mention all the rescuers from this and other editions who came to say hello and support us. Thaks! And Thanks also to Cristina for following us (we'll rescue your board ;)
When we went home we decided to unscrew all the decorative tails and noses and leave the pallets. We have already made the most of them. We hope they save somebody's life as they did with us once!

Este sábado estuvimos en el Hipnotik Festival en el CCCB. Visto y no visto. El montaje fue bastante rápido. Adaptamos parte del mobiliario del festival anterior a un nuevo stand. La gente había quedado tan contenta con el resultado que nos dio pena deshacernos de los palets. 
El día transcurrió entre música hip hop, break dance y otras actividades. Por respeto a los conciertos no realizamos mucho ruido (ni sierras de calar ni lijadoras). Tuvimos la suerte de contar con tres grandes artistazos ilustrando tablas en directo: Mr. Jalón, Adrià Ventura y David Méndez. Por no hablar de todos los reskatadores de ésta y otras ediciones que pasaron a saludar y apoyar. Gracias craks! Y gracias también a Cristina por seguirnos (ya reskataremos tu tabla ;)
En el momento de irnos a casa decidimos desenganchar todos los tails y noses decorativos y dejar los palets. Nosotros ya los hemos aprovechado, esperamos que a alguien les salve la vida como a nosotros en su momento!

Now some "Picking Europe's Wood" news! We show you some pics about the process of some of the boards that will be shown at the Bright Trade Show in Berlin. Let's festival! This Saturday the 9th we go out on the town. We will be in the HIPNOTIK FESTIVAL at the CCCB (Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona). We will be there with another 10 illustrators. Wild! We are their canvas, they are our voice. They will show the boards they have illustrated and there will action as well. Three of them will be working live. Illustration, noise and hip hop all day long.
We will be rescuing in Barcelona and Berlin at the same time. The team and machines are temporarily divided to face these invitations.

Nos vamos de festi! Este sábado día 9 seguimos con la jarana. Estaremos en el HIPNOTIK FESTIVAL en el CCCB. Nos acompañan 10 nuevos ilustradores. Bestias. Nosotros somos su lienzo, ellos la voz. Van a exponer las tablas que han hecho y también habrá acción. Tres de ellos estarán trabajando en vivo. Ilustración, ruido y hip hop todo el día. 
Estaremos reskatando a la vez en Barcelona y Berlín. Hemos dividido el equipo y la maquinaria para afrontar estas invitaciones.

Today, early morning, part of the team gets on the Beaver, Alba Pardo's van. We leave to pick all the boards we can on our way to Berlin in order to set up the stand with lamono at the Bright Trade Show. We are meeting some shops along the way (Barcelona, Zurich, Munich) to give them the "reskate" we show above. We will raffle this "reskate" among those customers who have left their old board in the shop. It is the first time we reproduce the same illustration on "reskates". Pride!

Esta madrugada parte del equipo se mete en la Castora, la furgoneta de Alba Pardo. Nos vamos a recolectar todas las tablas posibles de camino a Berlín para montar allí el stand con lamono en la Bright Trade Show. Hemos quedado con tiendas por el camino (Barcelona, Zurich, Munich) para que sorteen, entre sus clientes que les hayan dado su vieja tabla, este reskate. Es la primera vez que reproducimos la misma ilustración en reskates. ¡Orgullo!

We started the game with these posters. We didn't announce anything. We just presented our idea. What a pleasure being able to do all the posters we feel like about the things we like!

Con estos carteles empezó el juego. No anunciábamos nada, solo presentábamos nuestra idea. Qué placer poder hacer tantos carteles como te guste de lo que te gusta. 

The 1st of July we leave to Berlin with Beaver. Thanks to its great picking ability it will help us in this deed. We will start from Barcelona and stop at Annecy, Zurich and Munich until we get to Berlin. There, we will set up a stand at the Bright Trade Show with all the old boards that we will pick along the way. All of this, together with lamono. We will soon announce the rescuers of this edition!

El 1 de Julio salimos hacia Berlin con Castora. Gracias a su gran capacidad recolectora nos aydará en esta hazaña. Saldremos de Barcelona, pasaremos por Annecy, Zurich, Munich, hasta llegar a Berlín. Ahí montaremos stand en la Bright Trade Show con todos los skates viejos que hayamos recolectado por el camino. Todo esto cogidos de la mano de lamono. ¡Pronto anunciamos los reskatadores de esta edición!

We have a new project! This time Joe Busco combs the banks of the rivers and the clearings of the woods, as old Lulo said, to get on the trail of The Beaver. This is a deed we are carrying out with lamono. When we suggested them to do this viral they looked at us like saying "what the f**k...?"  And the director pointed out: "That's very freak". As we were so convinced we decided to make it and show it anyway. It was a success! We hope you like it. It's a gift.
Thanks to Xavier Daura who has lent us his voice and supports us unconsciously.

¡Ya arrancamos con un nuevo proyecto! Esta vez Joe Busco rastrea cerca de los ríos y en los claros del bosque siguiendo las pistas del viejo Lulo para encontrar a "La Castora". Es una hazaña que estamos haciendo con lamono. Cuando les propusimos este viral nos miraron con una cara de "¿que coj**** dicen?"  Y la directora apuntó: "Eso es muy friki". Y como nosotros estábamos tan convencidos decidimos hacerlo y presentarlo hecho. Fue un éxito. Esperamos que os guste. Es un regalo.

This end is a good beginning. We rescued live 10 boards and gave them back to their owners. They were "re-delighted". We have enjoyed a lot this experience. Thanks to the BCN Extreme and to all the illustrators for filling this space with humans. We have kept some of the pallets, although the idea of giving them back their past life attracted us. The pallets that once were admired with surprise and afterwards were used again as a piece of wood for transportation. That would be nice. And going to other festivals without any materials, to rescue anything we would find. But we have kept everything. They will be our stand. We are going to reuse them, to keep them up. We have saved them in the Cloud.

Este fin es un buen principio. Reskatamos 10 tablas en directo y las regalamos a los propietarios. Salieron reilusionados. Hemos disfrutado mucho esta experiencia. Gracias al BCN Extreme y a todos los ilustradores por llenar este espacio de humanos. Nos hemos llevado algunos palets aunque nos atraía la idea de devolverles su vida anterior. Que por un rato la gente los mirase con admiración y luego volviesen a utilizarse como armazón de madera empleado para el movimiento de carga. Eso sería bonito. E ir a otros festivales  sin material, a reskatar lo que encontrásemos. Pero nos los hemos guardado. Serán nuestro stand. Los vamos a reutilizar. Los vamos a mantener arriba. Los hemos guardado en la Nube.
